Users review: Paul Thomas Anderson has emerged as perhaps the great American auteur of his generation. At 42, this is his sixth film (after 1996s Hard Eight, Boogie Nights 1997s, 1999s Magnolia - of my all-time favorite - Punch-Drunk Love, 2002, and 2007's There Will Be Blood). Like Kubrick and Terrence Malick champion after aging master (which, incidentally, only her film debut in the sixth, amazed, last Venice Film Festival where PTA won the Silver Lion for Laptop better management), it is not the most prolific filmmaker, but his creations perfectionist, yet surprisingly cinematic cerebral and emotional, always leave an indelible mark (polarizing audiences, but usually serves criticism). Master is no exception.
