Users review: Paranoia: Two and a half stars (out of five) A superb cast highlighted forget this crime thriller from director Robert Luketic (who also directed the 2008 crime thriller improved 21 and a much better win a 2004 romcom date with Tad HAMILTION!). It was written by Jason Dean Hall and Barry L. Levy and based on the book by Joseph Finder (who also wrote the film already in 2002 crime thriller High Crimes book). Cast includes Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, Richard Dreyfuss, Julian McMahon, Embeth Davidtz, Amber heard and Josh Holloway (from Lost fame). This star Liam Hemsworth as up-and-coming technology worker who's blackmailed into stealing information from rival boss. Film was mildly entertaining as watching it but rather plays forgettable.Hemsworth Adam Cassidy, a wannabe inventor who dreams of making it big in the corporate world. While trying to impress his boss, Nicholas Wyatt (Oldman), a new cell phone invention (his team came up with) he's fired (including lifelong friends num). He uses a corporate credit card to treat all of his fellow employees fired thousands of dollars to drink that night (in particular club) and has earned her employer. His boss then blackmails him into being a corporate spy for him and steal information from his rival Jock Goddard (Ford). Close to a girl he met at the club (heard), who works for Goddard, to get the information he gets w Cassidy needs. She unwittingly puts himself (and his friends) in grave danger when he realized Wyatt was not stopped at nothing to ensure that information Cassidy capable wants.The Did he film is as routine as This coming out and playing like every other B movie crime thriller out there. Ford and Oldman is great fun to watch though and chew up the scenery every chance they get. Dreyfuss is a great addition Cassidys interesting father. Everyone else in the film is wasted though and Hemsworth are really not very impressive lead in the film.
